I use to not like my IS shark fin that much, but it's growing on me. Besides, the majority of new luxury cars have them nowadays. I think you're going to have a mess of problems if you try to remove it...my $.02.

I really like the Shark Fin. I liked it on the 3 series Beemers as well. I guess anything is better than the gen 1 IS300. I broke the OEM black one of when it was very cold out and the car wash spray nozzle tapped it. I then replaced it with an aluminum short one and was always worried someon would steal it. Shark Fin al the way (LOL).

The only difference I see between 06 and 07 is the sharkfin. If you take the sharkfin off the 07, people will think you're driving an 06. I personlly like to leave the sharkfin on and let people think that I drive a newer year model, and the only difference with the 08 is the dark graphite 18" rims (+sharkfin).

I like it too!!
Plus I need it for my XM, instead trying to find a place for that
stupid blob that comes with the receiver.
I've had several 06 owners follow me in to parking lots and ask where they can get one.

Isnt it screwed down? I would assume there are holes to fill. Which means $$$ in repairs

this is true, and 06 has never come from the factory with a sharkfin. you have an 07
