My Honda is 4 years older than my Lexus and it sits outside all day and night in the CA sun and doesn't have this problem. The Lexus is garaged every night...

I hope it doesn't happen again and the original molding was defective.

[QUOTE=BottomsUp;3176030]Questions...
Has anyone else had this problem?
Is it a known issue, TSB, etc..?
What should I expect at the dealer?
If they replace it will it be with the same subpar materials that will crack again?
Anything else?

I am late to this thread. Can you please re-post the links to the pictures.

Thanks.

Yes and just had them replaced under warranty, not to mention other problems. Like my dash rattle, rear view mirror vibration, and tic noise from driver apiller. I actually got a new dash because they said it was cracked, wow.

Maybe try and keep the trim protected by using a good product like 303 Aerospace, or Black Wow, using it like once every couple of weeks may help.

Sorry bud but I've owned far cheaper cars for a lot longer than this one with no problem like this. I'm sure that they got some crappy rubber from a bad source that I'm sure this won't happen again. They now about this problem.

Well, if anything your trims should be dressed regardless if its going to crack or not, atleast it will keep it looking dark and new looking

Had mine fixed under warranty as well when I came in for a leaky moon roof gasket. At first the guy tried to say that someone had pried at it, then i demonstrated how easily the rubber crumbled and he couldn't argue.
