I couldn't find it from home depot. They only had 30 max psi so I bought it from eBay (50psi). I think it was like $10 with shipping.

How does the dealer program new sensors? Do they need the sensor itself or a number on the sensor? I have all the parts to get this done just need to know about the programming.

They need all the numbers on the sensors. Don't know how much they barge tho. Just call them first.

I've never had a tire with a TPMS in it - do they unscrew from the inside or do you have to push them from the outside back in without destroying them in the process??

Building a canister this weekend, decided not to buy sensors for my new milanni z453 wheels and I can't tolerate the warning on the dash any longer. it's just too bad that lexus designers forced this decision - would be nice if they gave a simply option of turning the feature off when you don't want to use it.

btw. for any other tpms noobies, they unscrew from the outside (just a hex cover over the stem).

Pretty sure it is a legal issue, not a Lexus issue.

You have to remove the tires to get the TPMS sensors out. You can find 4 new sensors on eBay for like $40. Much cheaper than removing and remounting tires.

My 2008 IS 250 now has perpetual false tire pressure warnings because the batteries in one or more sensors are dead. My question is, if I buy four sensors on eBay and put them in the pressurized PVC container, will that turn off the dash lights even though the original sensors are still in my wheels?


BTW, it was really annoying when I first went to the dealer about the warning light and they pretended to not know TPMS batteries were dead and offered to sell me a $50 computer diagnostic. There ought to be justice.

Instead of this trick, but he has extra item in the trunk, i put 4 senors in my spare wheels and fill up 34psi, no problem ever even when it 5*F outside

Kind of off topic, but is the vehicle computer dependent on the TPMS readings for traction and skid controls?

If you get new sensors, you will have to program them so they can be recognized. No 2 ways about it.

Legally the tire suppliers can not remove TPMS sensors, if your car is so equipped, because they can be liable.

The TPMS was implemented and are now almost standard due to accidents caused by tire pressure issues, over and under inflation. And with the whole MPG push, they want cars to have the optimum tire pressure at any given time to save on gas.

On that same note ...can somebody verify that the oem part # is 42607-33021 for 2007 IS350's which translates to the Pacific PMV-107J that are used on many Toyotas.
