i agree with zeus. I had my 350 in for the 5k service today and they gave me an 08 IS250. I thought I'd have a little fun with it (as I'd been having with my IS350) but there is a day and night power difference between the 350 and 250. The 350 is much much more responsive and fun to drive compared to the 250 (I'm not knocking on the 250) however if you're looking for a car to drive to and from work and don't really care about power, the 250 is an excellent choice.

I bet you can find a used 350 with less than 15k miles for 30k...with Nav. I did....In January, I bought an 06 with 15k miles on it...with ML, Nav and Sport Package. Lexus dealer had one 06 with 9k miles on it...350 with Nav, no ML, and Lux package...they were letting it go for 29k....You see with a Lexus used you get a certified warranty with up to 100k miles....so you dont lose anything....same service. have it checked out...and buy with confidence. there are deals out there...you want a new 250 or almost new 350...in 6 months you wont tell the difference between the 2, except the 100hp....

Holy crap, whoever quoted you those prices was smoking crack.

A Lux package 350 with Nav/Lev stickers at about $45K. Those can be pretty rare, but your standard Premium Package with Nav 350 ought to be moderately easy to get, and should be around $38K to $40K, depending.

Or you could go with a CPO car and get a year or two old for around $30K and get the 100,000 mile Lexus warranty and new car finance rates (currently 4.9 for 60 on all CPO cars).

Just my thoughts, but the dealership was trying to screw you big.

Oh, and there is absolutely no comparison between 250 and 350. If you are in any way a power or speed freak, get the 350.

I'm not necessarily a speed freak (well maybe I am ) but coming from a 350HP hemi... thats my issue lol.

So after some close reading on these forums and some ebay searching, I've determined that IF I do it, I will MOST DEF get the 350 and not the 250. From what I can tell I can find these for $25k on ebay for a 2006 with NAVI with 44k+ miles... Or I found a certified pre-owned loaded with NAVI 2007 with 12k miles for $30. I'll probably go with the 2nd option IF I do this.

How much does that 100k mile warranty cost? Can I get it with any used Lexus IS350?

Thanks guys

30k with nav and 2000 miles. What is everyone talking about thats a good deal! But if you need power go with the 350. Only reason i went 250 is because of the manual trans.

Prices vary from area to area people!

If it's a Lexus Certified Pre-Owned, then the 3 year / 100K warranty is already included in that price. Comes with all the main benefits of a new car warranty, and is recognized all over the USA. All we have to do is pull your VIN and we can see it was a certified car.

Plus new car finance terms.

I don't like demo cars cuz some people abuse the car when they go for a test drive, but that could be said for used cars too. Personally, I would just get a used car instead of a demo one.

I have to agree with others that you should look for the is350 since you're coming from a 300c. but if you must get a is250, get a 6spd to help with the weak power.

while i now own a is350 i've driven a is250 on numerous occasions and the power in the is25 is IMO way underpowered. find a way to get a is350.

6MT FTW babyyyyy haha

but yea...back on topic, 30k for a 2008 with navi is a sweet deal. comin' from a 300c though, you will be disappointed with the power. i use my 250 for commuting 100+ miles a day.

Default I can not sell my car to save my life.....

I can't believe I am having so much trouble selling my car. I have never had such a hard time selling something. I mean hell this is a car that stickered new for $38,xxx and I can't get $25000 for it with 30K miles. That is less than 1/3 what I paid new. This economy is killing everyone. Watch out people, next americans will be in bread lines if this keeps up.

if you have your mods still on maybe you should take them all off and back to stock. most folks would run away from any car that looks really modded since they assume it's been raced alot and abused.

I agree, I just purchased my IS350 from the dealer for $29,600. Its a 2007 and had 30,000mi. They also threw in a 100,000 extended bumper to bumper warranty, GAP insurance, and wheel insurance (which also covers any aftermarket wheels). I got a pretty good deal.

I was going to go through a private seller but decided against it for peace of mind.

What you have to understand is the demographic these cars are typically sold to are older (at least 25-30 years old and beyond). Modded cars are typically sought after by the younger crowd, but they can't possibly afford a Lexus (insurance plus payment). Anything over $350-$400/mo is tough for them to afford. So by having your mods, you are limiting your market.

Just my 2 cents

Can't really say Insurance is going to be a huge part of it. I went from an STi to a IS350 and pay $300 less a year in insurance. So yea, maybe if you are going from a Corolla to a lexus it might be pretty drastic, but as far as similar cars are concerned, I'd say the insurance charges on these are pretty reasonable.

I feel for you trying to sell in this market though. Definitely a buyers market. I bought my 07 350 w/ 24,000 miles on it for $31K from a dealer. I think I got a decent deal.
