6000k or 8000k?
couldn't decide which bulb to use... so i bought both.
whats your opinion while taking the following into consideration.
(not in any particular order)
- visibility at night when you drive
- how it looks from other poeples view
- attract the least attention from the authorities*
*last thing i need is to get pulled over and get ticketed for everything else.

Yeah, you should get the bluest ones you can. If the visibility diminishes, you can just aim your bulbs really high into oncoming traffic.

H.I.D. lighting can be tricky. If you do a lot of night driving or driving in snow, you can get some unwanted reflectivity from the arch of the bulb on the reflector tape of street signs and the albedo effect of the snow. I have 6000k and they work well. One person commented on the 4300k all the way. This is the brightest white and best for visibility. Only thing, it won't produce that nice purple or blue. Some people use a 4300k bulb and then modify the projector lense or reflector plate on a D2R housing. it is really a matter or prefferance and opinion. I would avoid anything over 8000k in order to avoid tickets. Remember to adjust the beam down a bit on the Second gen IS when doing an H.I.D Conversion kit and most importantly, mae sure you have no gaps in the healight assembly rwar housing where the wires run or you will get nasty moisture problems. drill a hole and caulk very good with a silicone base. Then you will be fine. make sure to mount the ballasts so they don't bounce around or they will reduce their life.
