Not worth having a shop do it. It's way too easy. Look at the 2IS engine bay and yours. If it looks the same, you can probably access the same way.

I think it should be the same. I'm just not sure of taking out the water filter and all that stuff.. I probably would give it a try first before I have someone do it though. Are you in So Cal by any chance

^^ Maybe if your close to LA / Pasadena.. I can give you a hand if you have all the bulbs already...

In exchange for an hour drive with the IS-F.. LoL j/k

PM. if you need help...

Also, for those who don't know, the windshield bottle neck pops right off once un-bolted, which makes things a lot easier with it removed and out of the way on the drivers side.

okayy,
i had a problem when doing mine.
i had the parking lights replaced with LED's and they worked fine.
after a day, one side went out, so i go in to see if it came loose or something,
and then the other goes out too.
i took it to the service center and they said they kept trying to put in new ones, but everytime they did it would burn out.
and they didn't really offer any suggestions on how to fix it.
being that the city lights aren't really that big of a deal to me, i didn't bother with it.
but now i really want them on to match the headlights.

any suggestions as to what's wrong or what i could do to fix the problem?

I've done mine yesterday by following the procedures. I have skipped step 3. because you can access to the passenger side headlight easily without remove the airfilter box.

Hi everyone. My parking lights just arrived from Vleds - got the 5 smt ones.

Anyways as someone has already mentioned, there are 'instructions' in the owner's manual. I found the manuals online (google "is350 manual" for example). They are on pages ~310. I will post some pics when/if I finish the install tonight

Edit: Just finished the install. I did not have to do step 3, although it was not as easy as I thought without step 3.
First remove the black covers surrounding the engine bay (there are three). Like the directions say, you will see this black rectangular "cap" with a silver metal bar that is vertical. Push it towards the center of the car. This will unhook the "cap" such that you can slide the "cap" off. Twist the bulb counterclockwise. Rest is self explanatory.

For the driver's side, I took off the bolt holding the washer fluid and just yanked the tube straight off. This gave me *almost* sufficient room to work. I repeated the same steps as the passenger's side. It's almost the same as passenger's side except there will be two bunches of wires blocking your way.

Took around 30 minutes, most of it was getting the "cap" to go back properly.

Overall, the lights don't match my lowbeams that well but are much better than stock.

heres another update (a nice bump for noobs)

on a sclae of 1 to 10 (10 being the hardest) i give this a 2!

It's a bit time consuming cause of all the covers but overall very straight foward. no need to take off the intake and i have FAT hands! the confusing part for me before i even started was figuring out the cover over the bulbs. you can push the verticle bar (hinge) that unlocks the cover (which swings open). once thats off you can twist the bulbs out with a little finger power. from there it's just putting everything back together. another pointer as well is WATCH OUT FOR THOSE CLIPS!!!!!!!!

so i posted on 9-14-08, it's now 10/29/08 and i noticed water in my headlight which means i did something wrong. my guess is sealing that cover correctly? i noticed that when i push on the cover i hear a "click" noise and wanted to know if this was normal? i've also read that if you switch out the factory bulbs you void your headlights, is this correct? the car is brand new and i've already messed something up

help please....

i dont quite remember as it was a long time ago when i did the leds. if u mean the black cover, that i dont remember hearing a click noise. i just measure the cover to align the opening and put it in. the only click i hear is from the metal bar when u fasten it to the cover to make it secure.
