Default Ipod Charger Help!!

Can someone please tell me of a 90 degree angled power adaptor so I can charge my ipod in the arm rest. I know radio shack has liek a 3 in 1 outlet, but I dont need 3, I just want a clean set up. I've looked at the sik set up, will it fit nicely? I havent seen pics with it in the aux input and charging. Thanks

IF you're taking about the sik imp http://www.sik.com/imp.php, then no it will not fit you will still need the radio shaq 90 deg. power adaptor. that's my current set up. (add 90 deg. aux input and deff. have the Aux TSIB done)

The radio shack adapter I got pivots 90 deg and has two jacks, not three. It costs around $8. Works well.

They don't show it online.

Doesn't the ipod charge if you connect it from the 1/8" aux plug (in the center console) to the bottom of the ipod instead of the headphone jack?

Nope ..... no charging with that setup. I use the ram din and it works well. It's a little short, but just get an extension cable at Fry's.

I don't see the need for a charger in the car. My 80GB iPod lasts for about 15 hours on a charge. I just take it inside and charge it overnight. It's one less cable and contraption you have to worry about in the center console. And no ground loop hum.

So is there a cheaper alternative to the Sik Ram Din - a generic cable that has a right angle 1/8" headphone plug to go into the Aux port in the center console, and the ipod interface on the other end?

I use a Belkin adapter. It charges, sounds great and the cable is more than long enough.

If you want much cheaper just use the headphone jack. Sound won't be as good though.

I'm using the Belkin dock charger that also provides the 3.5" out port, so charging and dock output in one unit... still need to add a 3.5 M-M cable and the right-angle power adapter from The Shack though so it still takes up way too much center console room in an already small console. The stock jack location/angles are pretty stupid IMHO.

I'd probably skip the whole charger aspect and just use the SIK dock product if I wasn't positive I'd constantly forget to take it inside and charge it and then it'd be dead whenever I actually wanted to use it.

So is there another product (like the SIK ram din) that has a right angle 1/8" headphone (male) on one end, and the iPod dock connector on the other end?

I went on SIK's site to buy the Ram Din, and they want $10 for shipping - just want to make sure there's nothing else out there that will do the same job for a better deal.

FWIW, I e-mailed SIK and asked if the RamDin worked for the iPhone and they said it does not.
