Question 1 -

Anyone with wheel spacers - where did you buy your new, longer wheel studs from? Is there a place to buy them where you can specify the length to evenly make up for the width of the spacers so that no cutting/trimming has to be done to the studs?

I don't have the proper tools to accomplish this, so I'd like to have all the parts in hand and ready to be installed without any modication or cutting.


Question 2 -

When you go to remove and replace the wheel studs, do the hubs have to be removed (front, rear, or both) to remove the studs?

Good find, but a 20mm spacer is too much for the front with even the Eibach springs and stock 18" wheels/tires.

I think JavyLSU (IS350) measured pretty accurately and he got 12mm for the front.

Just saw that the same company on ebay has 10 and 15mm spacers. For the price though, I'd probably get them custom made so they are hubcentric and wheelcentric.

these come with the stud on the spacer. i like these a lot more if i were to use spacers.

^^^ Those are all 15+ mm, and can't be any thinner than that if they are going to have their own studs built in. They probably also require cutting the original studs short in order to fit the wheels over them.

Regarding the questions...

1) H&R sells 5 mm and 15 mm spacers that include the studs, and are both hub and wheel centric. I don't remember the part numbers, but there is a thread about it.
2) The front studs are super easy to replace, and require just a large hammer. I'm not sure about the rears.

H&R spacers are the only spacers I would ever use.

How wide are you trying to go?

if getting longer studs and installing them is a problem for you, you can get project kics wide thread comes with longer studs already on the spacer just bolt them on to the stock hub.

im running 20mm and 15mm (modified fender)

I got my ARP studs from this website. Just search for the "LEXUS IS300 WHEEL STUD" from the drop down list.

20mm is fine for the rear - we're only talking 3mm from what I measured, and that's the absolute widest I would go. As for the fronts, there are several IS's running the custom 12mm spacers in the front that I had made for my car - here's one of them:








As you can see, this is pretty flush. I've said before that I didn't realize it, but I was ever-so-slightly rubbing at full wheel lock, and that was running 12mm in the front. The only way I found out was actually removing the wheel and examining the inside of the wheel lining. Could you go 15 or 20mm in the front? Sure - but I can almost guarantee you that you'll rub at full wheel lock. Look at the pictures posted above - that should be flush enough for anyone wanting to perfect the stock look.

Adding a couple pounds to the hub is going to be about like adding 0.5 lbs to the tire.

Javier - is that car above running the Eibach kit too? What size spacer is being used on the rear?

carchitect - I'm just trying to get the OEM 18" wheels to look flush. Not sure if I'm going to go custom all the way around and pay for the install of the new wheel studs at a local shop, or go pre-fab H&R 20mm adapter in the rear and custom 12mm in the front (with new wheel studs), which I'd be able to install myself.
