nice James. you sounded pumped on the phone today and you should be. hahah since you took your wife with you today and had her go down the track with you, you should let her drive your car and see what times you get.. I am guessing you could drop another 50lbs having her drive?
congrats dude! I won't be able to get my spot back from you till feb.
Try bolting on 17 SSR rims, or something lightweight. Also, drop in some TM plugs.
12.8 quarters or better.
Any takers?
Percy, though I'm sure some lightweight 17's would do the trick I just can't see myself doing that. As I mentioned to JoeZ yesterday I like to run the car as it would be driven on the street. "OEM Sleeper style" I may try the front seat removal next time, but that's a last resort until I can find more power. I will be at the track again next Sunday (weather permitting) with a good friend of mine who will be running his Supra. For fun we plan to run each other a few times. That should make for a good video. I can foresee beating him out of the hole and maybe to the 1/8th mile at which point he will probably come flying by me and trapping 130+mph. He doesn't have sticky tires and is a bit conservative on his launches.
Here's a picture that I took of his car last month at a Supra meet.
Just before you pull out off the staging lanes, have a couple of friends spray down the intake with keyboard cleaner or canned air. Of course with the cover removed. The superstock boys used this cooling effect until the middle of this year when it was banned by NHRA..
Impressive results as I wouldn't think it would go that fast based on they only make around 250rwhp. your slightly modified car put down roughly the same numbers as my old 2001 Camaro SS with a auto. I think i went like a 13.1 @ 106....
Great job! Why didn't you pull the passenger seat? Removing the head rests and floor mats already screws up the whole "full interior" thing, so grab all the low hanging fruit you can! It's only 4 bolts.

Thanks Greg. I did have the seat out for the next run, but was limited on time as we had to get back home for a very busy rest of the day. Friends birthday dinner and a visit to the hospital to see my new nephew who was born Saturday. I got the the track early in hopes of more than 2 runs and as soon as I saw another domestic car break and spill all the way down the strip, I threw the seat right back in and had to leave.
BTW..full interior can be without floor mats and head rests. For the most part floor mats are optional and the rear headrests block part of my rear view field of vision anyway and I'd be fine driving daily without them.
R/T = reaction time ????
if so drop that reaction time.......you were almost .5sec slower than the left lane that would put in you in the 12s
You are correct that R/T is reaction time, but that isn't included in the 1/4 mile time. R/T is just included in the overall "race" where the guy on the left actually won by .2531 seconds.
You mentioned you left ECT on Normal and didn't brake torque to achieve those times. Did you also turn TRAC to off? Great job on those times and representing what a lightly modded IS350 can do.
