Question Has Anyone Used A Fuel Injection Cleaner

Just wondering if anyone is using them. If so, what brand and how often?

I have used the Chevron w/ Techron cleaner on my Tercel for over 10 years and never had injector issues. I know the IS has more sophisticated injectors so I am hesitant to use one yet.

Have used Gumout Regane and Redline SI-1. Have heard good things about Chevron Techron too but never used it.

Save your money and just use a 'top tier' gasoline and don't worry about it.

Don't use any injector cleaner's unless your above 60k on miles for your engine. Its point less until you ge to that type of mileage

The key is to alternate "top tier" fuels from what I have heard. Each fuel mfg. uses a different package of cleaners/additives in their fuel. By changing fuels you keep the combustion chamber cleaner with the different cleaners. I have used the chevron cleaner but I can't remember anyone having injector problems while using a good fuel.

Try Pemex gas here in Mexico and you will find out very quickly which fuel injector cleaners work or not. At Pemex stations they sell a lot of snake oil stuff, but one good one they sell is the one made by Restore that is also available at WalMart down here. Works very quickly. Techron is also sold here and I find that also works but takes a bit longer to have an effect.

Best fuel injector cleaner I have ever used is the one by Amsoil, very effective and potent.

Your car is new so it won't help much but it does help keep them clean.

I used Amsoil cleaner at 5000 miles. Just because I trust Amsoil.

Lol, wouldn't it be easier just to go to a Chevron gas station and use their premium grade gas? After all, it's "Chevron w/ Techron".
