Default Can Anyone Help Me?!

I need to find a really good present for my boyfriend's birthday and he LOVES cars. He just purchased a new IS350 and I'm wondering any car related things would be great. Any suggestions to anything that would make a great gift?

I'm willing to spend about $1000. I know..it's quite hard ='(

Oh also, his car is the top of the line..so it has things like navi, spoiler, satellite, etc from the Lexus store already...maybe after market things?

Thanks!!

That's nice of you. I say hid fogs, tints or exhaust system.

First, your BF has a keeper in you, Susan. There are so many things that you can get, and make a mistake if it isn't what he wants, that I would not attempt to guess and buy something to surprise him. My suggestion, unless you absolutely know what he wants, is to make up a nice gift certificate and give it to him over a nice dinner. That way there is the surprise factor, and gives him the opportunity to think what he might want. You can discuss it together which will cement the bond between you. That's how I would approach your 'dilemma'. Remember, it really is the 'thought' that counts.

Dang I wish my GF would get me parts for my car, who needs clothes!!!

But, like Evitzee said, it's a high $$ purchase, you should probably discuss it with him. That way for sure he will like it and I am sure he will be overwhelmed with the gesture anyway.

You intake, exhaust, lowering springs, sway bars, tint... and many more... need to know his preferences to narrow down to specifics...

gift cards are too impersonal... shes his bf... she should get something more specific... society these days... becoming so impersonal.. gift cards are so unthoughtful... its universal u can get a gift card for a business associate, parent, brother, sister, friends and apparently lovers? ... married men might as well give their wife each year for their birthday or anniversary a gift card too...

Wow, thats awesome to see someone who cares about what their bf/gf ACTUALLY wants rather than what they want FOR them. Too often you find people buying what they want for someone rather than what the person actually wants. My suggestion would be to set up an appointment at a local tint shop, then tell him you are going for lunch at a 'new place' you found. And drive him to the tint shop and get his windows done. A good tint job should be around 300 dollars and take around an hour. I'm assuming since his car is new he probably doesn't have tint yet. It is one of the more practical mods you can do to the IS. Good luck!

I know it's top of the line, but did he ordered the OEM Bodykit? Front lip, sides, rear?

he would love a front lip

That's a cool thing you're doing.

I agree that if you are going to get him something for the car, it's important to find out what he is interested in specifically....he might not want tinting, or likes the ride/handling of his car the way it is, etc.

An alternate suggestion: not sure if you can do it for under $1000, but has he ever had any professional performance driving instruction?

I can't remember whose it is, but someone's sig line on here says that the best mods are those done to the driver.
