a couple months ago i posted a story where my battery in my fob died prematurely. about ~6months old. anyways, i told everyone that i went to a dealership and complained and got upset at the service person when he told me they wouldnt replace the battery free of charge under warranty--even after he said that it was "strange" that the battery would die early. i got angry and said if it is uncommon, then something was wrong, but in the end i just stormed out emptyhanded. i posted the whole story on clublexus and most replies were just telling me that i was wrong and there are different factors and yadda yadda. this was about 2 months ago. fast forward to last night, i am in malibu at a party. i start hooking up with some chick and she wants to go inside my car and so we start walking outside. as i get to my car i put my hand on the door and nothing happens. uh--guess what. my key fob died again. only 2 months later. so on top of the embarassment i faced, i had to pop off the key cover and use the manual key and all that nonsense. not to mention that it completely killed the mood too. so guys, what do you think? is my key faulty or is it just overuse again?

Where do you keep your key fob at home? I was told that you want to keep it some distance away from TV's or other wireless devices (like your wireless notebook or other device) that may "communicate" with the fob and therefore drain it's battery.
Perhaps that's why your battery is dying so quickly?

but that can't be true, can it? i mean no one else is having these problems and i think that all the stuff i have near it is pretty much average. it's not like i put a flux capacitor or anything on top of it.

I say switch to your other fob for 6 months. If it also dies, chances are you're a dope :P
If it doesn't.....sweet vindication, and (hopefully) a free fob from the dealer.
Keep fob #2 in the same place next to the same equipment and see what happens.

Are you using Energizer brand???
Here is a tip... Switch over to your other FOB and see how long it lasts... IF its the same time period, then it may be the certain routine you do.. IF its not, then it may be the fob...
