Good luck with that. My bet is that in the end all you will get is an ulcer. My wifes 07 250 door gap matches yours exactly.

I'd be shocked if Lexus replaced a car for cosmetic defects that were just as visible before you took delivery of the car as they are today.

I would hate to burst your bubble, but Lexus will certainly not replace your car. There are people on this forum getting crankshafts replaced, transmissions replaced, etc and having their cars sit at the dealer for weeks. So i highly doubt they are going to replace an entire car for a couple small gaps and a few cosmetic defects. Best of luck however

So you bought the car on the 29th but didn't look at it before hand? You took delivery on the 30th so the car had to have been on the lot...

I highly doubt Lexus will give you a new car based on a few imperfections, but good luck with your battle.

At this point, I don't think Lexus will lose sleep if they lose you as a customer...

Yes, you may have gotten a bad apple from the bunch, but your 33K OTD car does not immediately scream "retain me!" unless you have a history with them of many other cars.

And I don't think they will take kindly to the attitude of "They will replace my car and anything else will be unacceptable."

If the paint is already enough reason to replace the car, don't muddle the issue with the gaps, TSIB, and boo hoo, waiting 45 minutes... focus on the key issues, and maybe they'll take you more seriously...

I agree with the post above me. If you are complaining about every single little detail then yes the dealer won't take you seriously and think you are a picky a-hole. Just focus on the key points and go from there.

You guys are right, I'm pretty sure they will not replace my car, at least I can try. I received a bad apple and the dealership caused a bit a damage to it, and thats life. I'm just mad because this is my first Lexus and everything up to this point has been disappointment after disappointment. It all adds up and now I'm unable to enjoy my car knowing each of these minor flaws exist, don't get me wrong, its a great car. I will most likely trade in my car ($3-4k loss + difference) for an IS350. I am just unable to enjoy this car anymore.

Anyone know the dealer laws in CA? In IL a dealer is allowed to repair a new vehicle that was damaged during shipment if the amount is less than 5% of the value. They are not obligated to disclose the damage at all.

OP. If you needed a detailer to point out these flaws why do you care? You didn't notice the issues the whole month you owned the car.

I think the OP just needed to vent and is coming to the realization of the inevitable.

The only thing is, I don't think trading it in for an IS350 will be any different... You'll still be upset at a lot of the issues you found unacceptable before, except now you'll have paid more and took a loss previously. Plus, it's clear your relationship with the dealer is likely damaged beyond repair...

Really think about it before you go down this road again.

In all seriousness and in a non-flaming way... why don't you try a BMW, Audi, Infiniti, or MB and see if they're better at the issues you are upset about? That way maybe you'll come back to Lexus when you're ready for a GS or LS down the road.
