I agree, the misleading title should be changed.
As for the future, this is what I see happening: the IS350 will get an upgraded/updated engine with more power, and the IS250 will either get an updated engine or a bigger engine with possibly D4-S being added over the current D4 system the IS250 uses. That way both 250/350 models get power increases while keeping a nice gap between them and the IS-F.

If you look at it from a manufacturing cost stand point and volume is everything, it would make sense to drop the low volume 2.5L V6 on the IS250 since I believe it's the only car that uses this 2.5L V6 engine as compared to the super high volume 3.5L 268hp used in just about everything else. My guess is if they do that, they'll bump the hp on the IS 350 higher.
When the new '08 Highlander came out recently with the 3.5L 268hp engine, the price went up $2000 over the old 3.3L V6 but they didn't drop the 3.3L entirely since it's still used in all the Highlander and RX hybrids.
Some of you mentioned about mileage. My feeling is the 3.5L 268hp V6 engine gets as good mileage as the current 2.5L V6. Just look at the mileage difference between the 4 cyl base engine vs the 3.5L 268hp V6 in the RAV4, there's only about 1 mpg difference.

ummm if the Lexus IS250 got a 3.5... wouldn't they both be called the IS350?... If so how would you know which is the 300HP and which is the 260HP?... I HIGHLY doubt lexus would put a 3.5 into the is250... maybe increase the HP to 230 or something or increase it to the IS300 (3.0L)

With those new govt. regulations that the car manufactures are fighting, 35mpg average something or other, i dont see toyota upping the hp/engine size for the 250. Lotta ppl are complaining about the EPA mpg ratings too so the 'best' mpg shown may change too...
The winds of change are blowing, get the high hp cars now while you can, those bs motors from the late 70's-early 80's are gonna be cycling back again. Just how do i know this? ...the voices tell me.
