Talking Black IS350 after Meguiar #80 and NXT Tech Wax

I waxed my car for the first time today since I got it back in June 06. I used Meguiar #80 and NXT Tech Wax. The Porter Cable 7424 made it a lot easier and faster. I took a bunch of pictures but the camera's settings were wrong so I only able to save a few good shots .

enjoy

Awesome!!! PC for the win! Thats the exact thing process I do with my car! Cept I wash and clay first. I love my porter cable! What pads do you use? I am getting ready to make the switch to lake country pads with a flexible backing plate. 4" and 6" pads.

^I'm sure he washed his car before running the PC all over it...

To the OP - You have a porter cable and you waxed your car for the first time in over a year?!?! You really should wax more frequently than that, especially since you don't even need a PC to wax... Car looks great!

thanks guys

ben r, you don't need to clay the car. I tried a new product and i'm in love with it. It made by Pinnade, Pinnade Safe Scrub Bug & Tar pad. It works almost as good as clay but it takes a fraction of the time. Give it a shot, it worths every pennies.

I used Meguair W8006 pad for #80 with the PC set at 5, w9006 for NXT Wax with PC set at 3.

I've been trying to wax it for the last few weeks and it always rain in florida every afternoon. It rained 10mins after I got it done today, take a look at the sky in the first pic .

Just did my new (June 750mi) Matador Red IS. Meguiers is the only stuff I use on my cars. Since it was new I didn't bother with clay or #9. Went straight to #7 Show car Glaze followed by NXT Wax. Gave an unbelievable finish.

I also picked up an '03 SC430 in June. The Black Paint was good but had been neglected. Started with #9 followed by Show Car Glaze then NXT. Major improvement but was not satisfied with the hood. 2 Weeks later did the whole process over again. Radical improvement.

Very Shiny!! Black looks the best when cleaned and shined. My SC400 was black and always kept it like this, it was always a head turner. Good job.

Does this work safely on the whole car, in place of a clay bar, or just the bumper?

Very nice dude, you should put a little tire shine on it too.

BTW, did you cut the bolt for the bumper?

Looks great but also suggest tire shine....Meguiers Endurance ....lasts for weeks. Really is almost a requirement for a clean black car.

Looks great tt061880. I am pretty impressed with the wet look nxt did for you.

I did mine this weekend with my new technique. for quick washes i am now doing ONR followed up with duragloss aquawax (whole wash and wax takes me less then 20min). For those of you that read autopia I think you know how great the whole duragloss line is for the $$$$. I cannot say enough about all their products I have tried.

Every couple of months i bust out the PC and do a full wash/clay/wash/polish/seal. However, when I don't have 2hrs to do that I run the above method.

Here's are pics. And seriously this wash/spray wax took less then 20min.
