$1,000 for SERVICE ????
Someone please tell me if I'm getting shafted here..
My front brakes need to be replaced..my service advisor says I need to change the front rotors as well b/c the pads wear out the rotors..
$150x2= $300 for Rotors and $70.26x2 = $140.52 for Pads
Total = $440.52 + $212.00 (labor) = 652.52
I also need to have my windshield wipers done
$43 for the large arm and $23 for the short arm = TOTAL = $66
My 15,000 mile service needs to be done as well (I also have an oil change due too) = $300
I understand I might be doing all of these things at the same time, but I'm wondering if any of these particular prices seem odd to anyone ?? Please let me know...all of these things came in all at once and I'd like to get them fixed for as less money as possible.
Thanks guys !!

First of all, I am having a hard time trying to believe that your rotors need to be replaced at 15,000 miles. The front pads cost around $55 plus shipping at most for a pair. You can definitely get the wiper blades from Sewell Lexus for a VERY good price.
I would double check your rotors with other mechanics you can trust to make sure they actually do need to be replaced. Otherwise, you can change out your pads yourself which will take you about 30 to 45 minutes at most. Here's the link for DIY: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=276736
So, I think you're getting a massive shaft from your dealer.

Invoke the TSIB for the brake 'fix' .... problem solved. Zero cost to you.
Just replace the wiper blades, no need to replace the whole arm. $10-15.
Not sure what is in the 15,000 service, but most of it is just inspection type stuff. Decide what you need (oil + filter), and ignore the rest. Probably less than $100 total.
There, you have just saved almost $900.

you can do the whole service for less than 1/4 the price if you do it yourself.
I doubt you need new rotors unless somehow it got jacked up. I've the same rotors on my ES330 for 30k miles and the same rotors on my SC430 for 25k miles and it's braking strong. It's the pads that need replacing.
The 15k miles service? oil change and "inspections"? I recommend learning how to do some of the minor servicing for your car or else you'll have to majorly pay up for the dealer to do the work. good luck!

I don't believe that, my car 38K miles and those rotors are still good.. No noise, no scratch... no nothing. I still haven't change my brake pads.. You can touch the rotor surface (when it isn't hot) if it is smooth then there is nothing wrong with the rotor... or maybe just resurface if needed. good luck bro..

You are definetly getting shafted!!! I got 21k miles on mine and still got around 6mm on my front and rear pads according to North Side Lexus in Houston. I took it in for an oil change and they also checked my brakes. I'm setting up an appointment next week to do my TSIB for the front brakes..

Some shops want to resurface the rotors any time the pads are changed; I personally wouldn't let them do it unless they can show me that the runout of the old ones exceeds spec or that they are excessively scored.
Also, the correct way to determine whether the rotors can be resurfaced or need to be replaced is to measure them with a micrometer and check those results with the service limits listed in the repair manual.

is there another dealer that you can take the car to?
i personally would only get the oil done and someone posted the DIY for the brakes unless you want to do the TSB for the other brakes. either way i agree that 100$ and no more for what really needs to be done. if the rotors are that bad then they should re surface them thru warranty....
