Teck Pro Grounding Kit for IS250/IS350
I bought this off of the my.is store, and it came with all the instructions.
So I installed it the other day, and as skeptical as most people say, I have definitely, and surely noticed an increase in gas mileage.
The other stuff like stable idle... And all that other stuff, I haven't really noticed, or maybe they are marginal... But whatever.
I thought it was a pretty good buy.

I still (from an engineering standpoint) don't honestly believe that these grounding kits accomplish anything useful. Every bolt used for a ground wire is not only torque-controlled during installation, but it also has a serrated washer and a thread-cutting profile on the tip to ensure good metal-to-metal contact.

35km = 21.8 miles. Tank capacity = 17.1 gal. This would give you a MINIMUM increase of 21.8 mi /17.1 gal = 1.28 mpg increase. Don't know if you have IS 250 or IS350, but let's assume average fuel economy before was 25 mpg (about mid-way between city/highway EPA fuel economy). Now it would be 26.3 mpg. 26.3/25 = 5.2% increase. There is no way a grounding kit could net you anything close to this. Personally, I don't think it makes any difference.
The auto industry is crying that any increase in fuel efficiency proposed by the US Govt will be very difficult to achieve, will cost jobs, etc, etc. If it was this easy to find 5% don't you think they would jump on it in a New York minute?
You are probably subconsciously driving more carefully which is giving you better mileage, but I seriously doubt the grounding kit is having any effect.

When will Toyota, Mercedes, GM, Ford, Honda, etc. learn that they can increase their fleet MPG by simply adding about $2.00 worth of wire and terminals. Much easier than all this Engineering Research crap!
