Electrical HELP!!! (Windows won't roll up after battery disconnect)
#31
My 2003 non lexus car with power windows did not have a problem like that. What gives? Is lexus behind the curve?

and so how does it help? the older technology also worked great...never broke down. Just trying to nail down the exact reason behind this logic.

(I wanna say there's also a safety element of it knowing when it's meeting resistance but has NOT traveled far enough to be closed all the way but I might be imagining that part)

Did your old windows have an auto-up function? The need to re-calibrate after disconnecting the battery is fairly common on power windows with an auto-up function; not just Lexus/Toyota/Scion.

I have disconnected my battery, and I tried resetting the windows. But the passenger windows would not even move at all, so how do I reset them? The Auto-Roll on the driver window is fine though.
By the way, mine is a right-hand-drive model if it matters.

How can I do the fix if windows don't move
I had the battery changed and my driver window is stuck in the down position. I am trying to do the fix in the other posts by rolling all windows down halfway and then back up (holding for a second). I cannot do this because my window does not move at all.
What am I missing because I am sure it is something simple.

When the battery is disconnected, the power windows must be initialized in order to ensure proper operation.
here is what to do in simple terms:
1. open driver side front window halfway
2. close driver side front window and hold switch for 1 second
3. have a look at the other door window switches (they should be flashing)
4. repeat same procedure with other 3 window switches
Easy enough
