Default Freeway Debris.. sad

So a few weeks ago I was driving on the freeway, about 70mph, when I saw all this debris on the road that looked like a truck lost its load or something.. next thing I know the car in front of me drives over this HUGE piece of plywood and right after they drive over it it kicks up in the air vertically and I smash right into it. Below are some pics of the damage. The insurance rep came out this morning and I used a pink mark pen to highlight the main damage areas for her. I will be getting a new hood and I wanted to know if anyone knows where to get a carbon fiber hood for our cars. I want to find out the price on them and see how much of a difference it would be between that and the OEM hood. I want a quality carbon fiber hood though.

DAMM!!!

On a lighter note thou, that pink ink really goes well with the black paint.

The IS hunting season must be open again.

Anyways, you can get a carbon fiber hood from Seibon.

There are two types you can choose from.

One looks like the OEM hood, while the other is its retarded ricer brother.

But either way, it should be better than a hood with scratches...

Difference between a CF hood and the OEM hood is about 1-2 lbs from earlier posts on the subject.

So basically its a look preference, not a weight preference.

Almost forgot OUCH!

I wouldn't get a CF hood to save a couple of pounds. The next owner will probably not want a replacement CF hood, so your resale will be less. Stay with an OEM aluminum hood.

Ouch.

It doesn't look pretty, but it looks managable.

I hope you get it fixed real soon...

That is painful to look at. A good body shop should be able to make it look new again.

Good point. I want to trade it in anyways next year for an IS-F, so I should probably stick with OEM for sure.

I wish! I would have issued the ticket myself except I wasn't on duty and I didn't see anyone pulled over cleaning it up. It's times like this I wish I was a highway patrolman instead of a city cop.. I would be finding every truck I could with an unsecure load and ticketing the heck out of them!! Ok, I'm calm now. Woooooosaaaaaaaa.
