First: whos car is it? yours right? so the bottom line is, its YOUR FAULT.

Second: Dont panic, just add some 104octane boost. You dont need too but I would if its my car.

Third: dont worry about it, nothing will happen.

nah it shouldn't be a problem. you might see a loss in performance. but no biggy. if you really worried about it you could problem go to wal-mart and pick up an octane booster. but that might also damage the o2 sensor. i could be wrong. just be glad he didn't fill it up with diesel!

I accidentally did that once. It seemed to run fine and I ended up getting the same mileage for that tank. Is there any problem doing this on a regular basis?

I Don't Think It Matters...
If you don't see a engine light is triggered... you should be fine. The car is not very picky on gas unless you did some engine mod in it.
Toyota want us to use good gas becaue... it will give the car more power and so we feel it is better (also.. don't you see all cars use good gas? our car = good car ), but just a recommendation we should follow. Lower octane (even 87 won't do hurt your engine). If it does, you should see engine check light on now because of misfiring, and still... it it can be reset after you use better gas next time.

You will be fine... lol.

He's from NJ and your not allowed to pump your own gas there, needs to be done by an attendant

Your car will be fine, if your that worried about it just put some octane boost in like the others said.

Don't worry about it it won't have much of an effect if any.

You can top off the tank with premium once it gets to half or just use the full tank and then fill 'er up with premium and everything will be good.

I wouldn't recommend octane boost, that might do more harm than good - your engine is fine running regular unleaded occasionally, you'd suffer performance decreases if you did it regularly however.

you are ok. There are knock sensors in our engines that allow the ECU to adjust the ignition timing. This protects the engine.

Just run through the tank and put Premium back in. If you go through your manual you will see that it states the same thing.

Are you serious... are you really getting all bent out of shape over this? Typical damn American statement... "I'm going to sue..."

Chill out. You car will be fine. Drive it with the regular gas and just take the initiative next time and tell them exactly what kind to put in.

You'll lose a bit of power, and I would avoid pushing the engine too hard with regular gas. Yes we have knock sensors, but they can only compensate for so much, so just drive normally until you can fill it up with premium. I've done it before (not on my IS but my previous car that also needed premium) and didn't have a problem, i just didn't push it.

Ooooh no!! Your engine is NEVER going to be the same!! j/k

Man chill out, nothing is going to happen. No need to cus at your friend for something so minor. If my friend said that to me then he is not even worth having a friendship with.
