wrong, putting lowering springs on stock shocks/struts will shorten the life compared to factory springs. how much different will the lifetime of the shocks be? that depends on how much the car is lowered. you also need to get a camber kit if you want to avoid camber wear. yes, you can set the toe to zero and that will solve a lot of tire wearing issues, but too much negative camber will wear the tires. most of the cars pictured in this thread are not lowered so much that the results will be that severe, but the effects are there nonetheless. i can say from experience. i lowered my gs-t eclipse on ground control coilovers with stock struts and one of my rear struts blew a couple months later and i went through four rear tires in 6 months as a result of the negative camber. i then bought a Progress camber kit and adjustable ball joints and the problem was fixed.
