acceleration problem
why is it that at times, ill press the accelerator... and it takes a couple seconds to react. its almost like it slows down a sec and then goes. what do you guys think?

My '07 does this as well. It's almost like "turbo lag" in a turbo charged car. It's not bad, but once it kicks in, hold on to your butt! I think it's just the design of the car and no problem.

My '07 350 does the same. The transmission is not quick in this car. It takes a second to downshift to give you more power. Whenever I need to punch it like that I find that manually shifting if quicker than the auto trans.

the car has a computer where it adjusts to your driving habit so if you normally drive without really accelerating, it would take a lil longer to react when you do floor it. But if you have a lead foot, then the car would always be accelerating, just like when you first test drove the car.

try using the ECT POWER button. throttle responce is much better from what i see. plus maby the ECU might need to learn your driving behavior. i constantly redline mines. throttle response is'nt too bad.

Not the smartest thing you can do...including for a new car. Take it easy on the car in other words if you want it to learn your style of driving, whether its lead or feather footed it doesn't mean you need to nail it to 6500 RPM. Just my 0.02.

i have a manual transmission, and the throttle response is immediate.
if you mash on the gas with an automatic, you are making the transmission go into a "passing gear" mode, in which you downshift to an appropriate gear based on how far you press your accelerator down.
next time you floor it, look at the rpm gauge, and see if your rpm's hesitate from your foot's response. if your prm gage responds quickly, then your answer to the delayed response is the transmission downshifting for you.

It's called the transmission, and while quick, it still does need time to dowshift. If you want instant responce, go to manual mode and choose your gear before making your move. This requires you to "get to know" your car a bit more intimatly though in order to select the optimal gear.

Yea, ummm, just go ahead and press that little ECT button by your right knee up to the PWR option and leave it on all the time. That should take care of your problem!

In stop/go traffic, I actually switch to snow mode (and I live in Houston, Texas where the only snow is in the snowcone machine). Snow mode gives me better gas mileage in stop/go traffic, and allows me to compensate for my lead foot, as I can floor it and still don't have to worry about the car taking off and hitting the guy in front of me.
