way funny! For those that got a dollar check... Do what I did awhile back...
Got a check for a dollar & some change... thru it in a drawer and forgot about it.. they called me and told me I had to cash it as it screws up the books and there account did not balance. I told em I lost it and they sent another. After the 3rd check they gave up on me
I figure they spent $30 or more in admin fees etc...lol

thats funny they refunded that little bit...i underpaid and they didnt even ask for me to pay it when i got my tag.
I got a University of Florida plate which was an extra $45 on top of the regular fees and the salesman told me they usually only collect the normal tag fees and anything extra would be paid later....but they never asked when later came.

Sad is that the rumors are believable..but it seems like they are usually a year ahead. I remember two years ago people were like "oh, it's going to be 3 dollars!" and now it's 3 steady..

I think thats dependant more on the dealership than the brand... When I ordered and purchased my 335i, the BMW dealership refunded me $185.00 the same way (check via mail)...I put that into a piggybank for my PROCEDE and 3 months later I got my procede.

Hmmm must vary by state. I don't remember ever getting a refund for license fees on a new car I've purchased in SoCal for the last 20 yrs, must be a conspiracy . . .
If it were me, I'd just frame that puppy and hang it in my office, kinda like a diploma or certificate from the mayor . . .
