How about you change the thread title to something a bit more descriptive - like which TSIB you're talking about...

How do you konw if your car is one of the ones that is effective by this?

How do you go about getting the different transmission oil in? Just head to the Lexus dealership and show them **** print out?

I think they all make some noise. Mine makes noise from 1st to 2nd; but its a "mechanical" sound--not grinding. I brought this TSB to my dealer when my car had about 3k miles on it and they said it would only cost about 30 bucks to change the oil; but they recommended I just do it at 15-20k.

I did mine at 15K with Mobil 1 75W-90 GL-5 oil due to the gear noise/notchy 2nd gear. I would suggest using synthetic oil, dealer charged me $115, I have no idea why they quoted you $30, that doesn't even cover their labor technician rate!!

Just be sure it is suitable for transmissions. Not all gear oils are. Many have an anti-friction additive for hypoid drive gears that will make your synchros very unhappy. I would use Red Line MT-90 since it is synthetic, API GL-5, and does not have the sulfur EP additives the synchros hate.
