Exclamation ► Park assist nightmare [pictures] (dealer installs e-bay crap, not park assist)

I have purchased my Is250AWD 1 week ago. Part of the deal was that I was getting park assist. The dealer told me they will install it after the car comes in. Well....... today i took the car to the service dept. for installation of my park assist. When I came in to pick up my new car I found 2 "Nipples" sticking out of my rear bumper (my car is Starfire Pearl) As soon as I saw this I went back to the service rep. and asked WTF is that? he said I should have asked for white ones, he didn't even mention that it wasn't even "Park Asssist" but some cheap 2 sensor "echomaster"

you can get them on eBay for $59!!!!!!!!!!!

I specifically wanted my car to have the park assist option. All of my documents state "park assist" for a reason.

Later the manager told me & my hubby that is doesn't even come with park assist option, we then pointed that out in the owners manual, another salesman said that they first print the manuals but sometimes back out of certain options.I've felt insulted!!!I'm definately not planning on letting it go. I want PARK ASSIST (cause this is exactly what I paid for)

Here are the pics:

this is some kind of annoying beeper

Wow that's the ugliest aftermarket park assist I've ever seen. I've never been fond of aftermarket ones because they're not always reliable.

Can they take it off and give you your money back or did they drill holes for it?

yes they did drilled the holes.
I'm still willing to deal with them if this wierd thing will be replaced with PARK ASSIST and if not I will take a "different route".

I'm pretty sure that park assist is a factory option only, e.g., not intended for a dealer install.

Default I've seen those before, but not on a Lexus...

OH!!! That sucks!!!

Unfortunately, those sensors are (of course) aftermarket and will not be as clean looking nor seamless with the car's system. Those things are not integrated to the Nav/dash system.

There is a reason why Park Assist sensors are "factory installed," not "port installed." In order for you to get the OEM factory installed parking sensors, it would cost several thousands of dollars, instead of this $200 aftermarket option...

^ I totally understand that, but part of the deal was that i would have a park assist option on my car and that's what the dealer agreed to. All they had to do is tell me they are after market only! and it will not be the same as factory installed. I would've backed out of this option.and they didn't specify that they were unable to install the original system after delivery, all they needed to do is just say it.

Why did you order the park assist feature if you have a rear view camera?

I'd be pissed with the noise, after-market or not.
