lol@kensteel!

I use a RF remote control attached to the iPod so I can drop the iPod in the center console and still control it. The remote I have even lets me change playlists.

The remote is jet black and not much thicker than a watch battery. I attached it to a one end fake credit card (the one's you get in the mail as spam) with velcro so I can slide it in the card slot in the driver's side sun visor. It looks like it's part of the card and I didn't have to modify the car.

I can either reach up and push a button while driving OR I usually quickly reach up, grab the remote, make whatever modification I want, then quickly slide it back... all without having to take my eyes off the road.

Hope that helps,

Kev

I use mine for Sirius also. The extra car dock kit that I bought has an AC adapter that fits inside the arm rest and allows me to close it. I got one of those cupholder kits to mount the receiver on, so everything fits nicely into the armrest storage area.

A shame that getting Sirius is such a hassle in the 2007 Lexus IS. However, I had a receiver already.

you can simply purchase a male-male headphone wire from wal-mart for $4.00 (RCA brand, next to other connectivity stuff for home/dvd use)

you won't notice the difference in sound quality between this cable and any other expensive cable.

I disagree. Like OC 335i said above, the cables that use the dock connector on the iPod bypass the headphone amp and sound noticeably better. (Plus you don't need to worry about the volume setting on the iPod being too high or too low)

This is how my Bluetooth connector transmitter works, it connects to the dock portion of the iPod.

Bluetooth, huh? Whats the deal with that? do you us it normally and the bluetooth has another connection at the mini (where you would normally plug in the ipod)

SerKevin - its been a while since you posted, but where did you find the remote you use? that sounds like the best option besides doing a full ipod integration install.
