Default Rear window tint - Is it me or ... ?

Just the girl tinted on Friday and the rear window activity at night is extremely distracting - any/all light reflects vertically along the defroster lines vertically (see pics). Now, these pics were taken in a parking lot for safety, but on the highway or a busy and bumpy road in NY it's like a fireworks show back there. Is this the way it is supposed to look like?

I apologize for the quality of pics (done with my treo) but they do illustrate the issue well.

The tint was Solarguard NM charcoal 50%.

not sure if it is normal.. but i am sure the tint is still wet. maybe wait 3-4 more days and see if it goes away.

turning on the rear defroster can also help speed up this process.

Yep it should be gone in less than a week, which will be sufficient time to let all the extra water dry.
However, my tint guy told me not to turn the defroster on during that time.

Thanks for the reassurance Julez, to be on the safe side I won't use the defroster.

Thanks Batmobile.

i have the exact same thing and it's been there for the last 6 months. I have solar guard tints. Maybe it has something to do with the quality of tinting. I could imagine the problem being caused by the tint not fully adhering to the contour of the window and lines from the defroster and radio antenna.

Also, check for any debris, water bubbles, and air bubbles that might be trapped inside! And that the film is 100% sticking to the glass!

Same here...Had it installed in Dec., at first it was more pronounced. Right now its still there, but just not as much and only at night. The film I got is the Solar Guard HP (High Performance?) its hybrid metallic 35% all around.
