If you want to really get down to it, everything is water resistant, and not truly water proof. "Water resistant" is another BS term companies like to use to get out of ever claiming responsibility for anything.

Default Waterproof keyfob

I left the key fob in my pant pocket for my 2012 IS-F and the wife washed and dried the pants today. I just knew it was ruined. To my surprise, I tried it and it is still 100% functional. Way to go Lexus. I wonder if any other car manufacture can boast this added bonus. Another reason I am a loyal Lexus owner.

Nice to know that key fob can be washed and dried, just like the car :-)

BMW key fobs are also water resistant so I'm going to assume most are also. Won't argue with the loyalty part.

Default Is300h keys in the Sea !

Unfortunately I found myself swimming in the Sea (Salted water) with the keys in my trouser pocket for a whole minute.
The keys worked and now I’ve removed the battery and place the keys in a small box with rice. Didn’t see
inside wet except a few tiny bubbles.
the battery is placed in a small compartment with round rubber to protect.
my main question is the 3 *****….
any advice will be appreciated

Default Waterproof

Just washed my 2020 LS500 key fob in clothes washer. It still works. I took it apart and it is perfectly dry inside. There is a silicone seal inside.
