Not to scare anyone, as it may be a misdiagnosis, but after seeing a check engine light/check vsc, despite repeated restarts, I went to the dealer. The check engine light did not return when I was there, but they say they did find a code 0200 (I think that's what he said) which he says is a problem with a fuel injector. The tech says he's checking with his regional guy to verify. For now everything SEEMS fine, but of course it's a bit of a worry.

Just to clarify, this is different than the types of problems that occured on some IS250's with the oil/fuel mixture problem.

I'm supposed to know more next week, I'll keep you posted, meanwhile have any of you '06 IS350 owners seen your check engine light often or at all?

When did you get your '06? I picked mine up in Dec. 05. Perhaps it was an issue with the earlier batch?

No CEL in 6 months of ownership - actually, I haven't seen many reports of engine problems on this site at all. A fouled injector can happen I'm sure...x failures per 1,000 parts, and you're the lucky one apparently!

Funny, I wouldn't normally associate "lucky" with this scenario!

I wonder if they'll just expect me to wait until the light comes on again, or if they'll take a more proactive stance?

BTW, I'm at 11,500 miles and 13 months of ownership.

Picked mine up the first week of December 05. No problem with CEL.

I have a 06 IS250 and had this problem 3 months after purchasing the car. There was a problem in the bleed down rate of the Lash adjusters. They were taken out and reassembled? After that the engine through a code 2195 for the A/F ratio sensor in which they replaced. I have had NO problems since and I now have 22,000+ miles a little under a year.

Hey Tennistodd,

I threw a CEL in my 250 awd for gas mixing in with the engine oil. All the dealer did is put new oil in. 1K mile later, I think I smell gas again on the dipstick This cant be good for an engine.

Did your car get fixed based on a TSB. How long did the engine repair take.


It looks like they may have a flaw in the early 2.5 engines

Just to clarify, did they translate your initial problem to a bad fuel injector? Or was this the oil/fuel mixture problem that many IS250's seem to have had?

Correction, instead the code is a PO200 or P0200. Anyone know where we can research the details of these codes?

Here's what P0200 means. There are also codes for individual injectors, P0201 through P0206. This failure code is a general fault and not associated with a single injector. It could be from a lot of sources. I have never seen this on my car, and I've got well over 16k on it now.

Thx for the explanation, I guess it's a number of issues. If it were your car and the check engine light hadn't been coming on for a while, would you still demand Lexus take the engine apart in search of the problem? Or would you just wait until it happens again? My concern is the next time could be more problematic?
