Default smartkey locking

has anyone ever tried starting their car (warm up) and then walking away and trying to lock it? the remote doesn't allow the car to be locked from the outside once it has been started... i find this a little stupid since i can't walk away from the car and let it warm up without leaving it unlocked. since the car detects the FOB is outside of the car, it should let you lock it imo. thoughts?

You're not the only one who thinks this:

Ahh.... Use a AutoLock... Lock the Gas Pedal or Brake Pedal while it is warming up. atleast you know they cannot drive off with the car.

a little inconvenient... should be as simple as pressing the fob and the doors lock...

True.... Or maybe we should take on using electric shavers.

Shave when you are in the car while it is warming up.

so i'm sure you've already read this from the other post but if you leave your second keyfob inside the car, you can step out of the car, close the door, and lock the door using the first keyfob in your hand.

But if you do this then your second FOB will run out of battery quick since the car and the FOB will "TALK" to each other all the time when they're in a close distance.

You know I would think changing that setting wouldn't be that hard but what do I know. I second that.. considering people can drive off in our cars if it is running and the fob isn't *detected.*
