Not yet, I was hoping one of the Lexus techs on this site could give us some more technical detail on the OEM flasher. It says on it, "+LED", so I'm wondering what that means and what the difference is betweeen ours and the 81980-02030 OEM unit.

I did find out that the SBLED unit, was replaced in production by the 02030 one.

What's the purpose of the flasher? To enable the right power to an led replacement?

An LED draws less power which makes the flasher unit think that a bulb has burned out. That causes the LED turn signal to flash more quickly than the normal rate.

Just so yall know, if it might help, LED turnsignals is a well known mod on motorcycles. To fix the problem, we buy these things.

Yes, that is a replacement LED flasher, the same thing we are trying to find.

The 50030 flasher the Tundra guy used worked in a mixed environment.

Why go through all that hassle? Using load equalizers would be so much easier.

To me, finding a plug and play mod is always preferable to cutting and splicing factory wiring. The resistors also get very hot, so you have to be careful where and how you mount them.

I might use the resistors after I exhaust my other options.

Not as simple as it appears.

I have tried the exact same load resistor as the one below and it did not do a thing on my car. Still hyperflashing like crazy.

I replaced the rear turn signals first and the hyperflashing started immediately.

Strangely enough, when you have the hazard flasher on (rather than just right or left turn signals), the LED's flash at the same rate as the regular filament bulbs.

I then replaced the front turn signals with LED's and same thing - hyperflashing.

I wonder if we can just remove the stock flasher completely out of the equation and resolve this problem like that?

Any Lexus tech here to confirm if this poses a problem or not?

BTW, I have a 99 GS400.

I have an idea! Have anyone tried the Toyota Prius & Camary Hybrid flasher? Both car have LED turn signals.

My friend bought some LED turnsignals off ebay with the resistors built in. Maybe this link will help, you just have to search ebay, when he gets online Ill see if he can give me more info

just curious what are the benefits of led flashers minus it never going out??
