does the speed limiter bother you?

haha yeah, i've gotten to 105 and that's all, and i don't plan on anything higher unless i get some go mods and take it to the track. i wish we had easier access to the japanese parts...

Don't plan on going over 120, come to think of it, I haven't even went over 100 on the IS yet. Too much rain, leaves, curves.... here in OR. Not to mention speed traps all over the place. I have a friend who works here from SF and he complains to me every single time about the cops with radars up here. Oh yay, and photo radar too!

Thanks for the heads up. Are the US and Japan versions of these engine control systems the same? This was an issue for the 2JZ-GTE. US versions were MAF, JDM were MAP, so many of these kinds of devices would not work on the US models. The engine control systems were completely different.

142 with the stock limiter. Not something many see very often.

Can someone verify that this will work on a US model IS? If so, I will 100% buy it and max out my IS350... 142mph is pathetic... Why is the IS350 limited to that speed? Are the stock tires not rated faster? Even my old acura was limited to 149 and all mercedes benz are like 155-157... Anyone think the IS350 can push past 165?
Well, it's all moot anymore, since life begins at 180... Once you've done that, everything else below 170 seems slow...

Not sure why the IS is limited to 142mph (228.5kph). Perhaps it's tire related. But I imagine this is one accessory that will void the warranty on engine and drivetrain as fast as any accessory you would tack on. If you would have an engine warranty claim I'm sure the black box would tell Lexus that the speed limiter was bypassed. Just not worth it imo unless one is seriously sick for speed on the track and doesn't care about any warranty.
