I wish I kept the box from the filter I bought locally. The washer was nice to have and should last a few changes until I need to buy another one. It shouldn't be but a dollar or so.

I will guess that the first part of the part # refrences the filter and the second part refrences the o-ring kits. But thats just a guess.

Interesting. Last group I bought was in 06, O4152-YZZA2.
so the YZZA5 supersedes it. As long as it still fits.

$3.56 each is not bad. Order before inflation hits hard boys.

I would be careful with these part numbers....I have seen some indication that the A5 supercedes the A1, but they are definitely different filters. I have both and the A5 element is longer. Both may fit certain Lexus models, but I know for a fact that the A5 does NOT fit my 2008 Sienna, whereas the A1 does fit. The A5 might fit my 2007 ES 350, but I haven't tried it yet. I bought the A5 from a toyota dealer, but specifically for my Lexus.

They are different.

Lexus OEM "element/canister-style" applications only, many also fit Toyotas:

04152-YZZA1 is for the RX and ES (Replaces 04152-31090)
04152-YZZA3 is for the IS250/350 RWD, GS350/450h RWD and GX460 (Replaces 04152-31020, 31080)
04152-YZZA4 is for the LX570 (Replaces 04152-38020)
04152-YZZA5 is for the IS250/350 AWD, GS350 AWD, GS460, LS460/600h (Replaces 04152-YZZA2, 31060, 38010)
04152-YZZA6 is for the CT200h (Replaces 04152-37010)
04152-51010 is for the IS-F

04152-YZZA2, YZZA3, YZZA5, 31020, 31060, 31080 and 38010 are all the same size filter element, with differing o-ring selections (YZZA2, YZZA5, 31060 and 38010 all come with 2 o-rings, YZZA3, 31020 and 31080 all come with 1 o-ring).

04152-YZZA4, 04152-38020 and 04152-51010 are all the same size filter element.

I think that about covers everything. You can use the YZZA4 for the LX570 or IS-F, no other Lexus uses the same size.

Related to the 2IS:

RWD: 04152-YZZA2, YZZA3, YZZA5, 31020, 31060, 31080 and 38010 all work.
AWD: 04152-YZZA2, YZZA5, 31060 and 38010 all work.
IS-F: 04152-51010 and YZZA4 work.

I hope that list is relatively clear, and explains what uses what.

Jeff

Waking up an old thread here. . . . . Anyone notice from the links to the websites that the Purolator filter has different ends on it? I bought one, and noticed that the one I removed was made like the Toyota filter pictured (same as Wix shows on their site). Mine has the rubber on the ends, like the Purolator site shows. They are the same length, same inside diameter, and it looks like it will work. Just a little antsy about having the wrong filter in the car.

Did all the research I could, and decided that perhaps Purolator had updated their design. I have a friend that works at another parts store, and he pulled the L25609 and sent me a pic. It looks the same as the website. I went ahead and put it in. Drained and refilled the crankcase, and started it up. Runs smooth, no leaks or ticking from the valvetrain or knocking (God forbid!). Late now and cold as hell in the garage. Going to let it run in the driveway for a while in the morning and double check everything before going for a test drive. I am going to call Purolator Monday to find out what the deal is, but will likely use the Toyota/Lexus filters from now on. Been changing oil for years, and I am well aware of the tragic results that can come from using the wrong filter.

So I bought my oil filter from crown lexus today and the box says 04152-yzza3 but.. the oil filter itself stamped 15613-yzza2? should I be worry?
edit - never mind.. that's just the part# for the filter itself. the part # on the box is for the gasket o ring and the filter kit.

They're basically the same filter. The YZZA4 filter comes with 2 o-rings and a plastic drain connection, the 51010 filter only comes with 1 o-ring.
