I've reading about some of the things that Acura owners have done by patching the firmware in their navi: eliminating the nag screen, altering background images, changing text, etc., and hoping that someone would have similar success with the Lexus navi.

It won't happen... Our navi unit is made by Denso...

Denso = terrible crap by idiot engineers

It's also a proprietary language so there's little hope of doing the cool things the Honda/Acura owners can do

You sure? Others have posted that our navi is built by Fujitsu Ten. Someone even posted a link to a Fujitsu Ten navi with what looks like the same UI that we have.

IIRC, Denso is a subsidary of Fujitsu.

hehe, yeah i think i am going to get the 07 disc and then sell my 06 disc on ebay and basically say the 06 disc will give you 07 owners the coveted override....that is, when all this confusion gets figured out.

Hey Kermee, haven't seen you here in ages!! Thanks, and that makes sense, since I know that the bluetooth unit is made by Denso.

I actually think the car looks BETTER with a switch, instead of those dead panels...

Lexus recently replaced my '06 NAV disc with an '07 disc to fix some month-long navigation issues that I was having. I'm guessing that it had something to do with the firmware.

Do you still have the issues? Do you still have the override function?
