10K Service - Cost?

I'm not positive, but it may be up to the individual dealer--in my case, the dealer states that they will provide a loaner if the service is expected to take longer than 2 hours. With the 5k service, I had some other items that needed to be fixed (related to the xm radio install), so I had the loaner for a few days. Since the radio issues were not resolved to my satisfaction, I've had the loaner for four days so far this week.

My 5k and 10k was free at my dealer. I was actually surprised as I was ready to whip out my wallet after they finished servicing my car but he stopped me and said it's free.

Lexus charges for all of services even you are within the warranty? Hmm... I had an AUDI A4 and every service up to 48K were covered... Is it different for Lexus?

Yes, it's different at Lexus. It's different at Audi too, since they stopped offering free scheduled maintenance on new vehicles last year. Only the first (5k) is free.

prepaid maintanice
i prepaid for my maintanice package... couldn't be happier either... it ends up being 200 dollars cheaper over the life of the car. (well at least until i plan on selling it) plus i get a few loaner everytime... i drop my car off at 6am and pick up a rental, i got an es350 last time. And i plan on trying one of everycar... i think its actually a really cool package

Sewell changed my oil for free at 5k. For the 10k, they said they would come get my car (128 miles, one way) and return it to me at home! Good deal, I thought. But, looking at some of these quotes, I think I'll just continue to take it to the Toyota dealer 20 miles from me. They charged me 33 for 5w20 oil and parts, 9 labor, + tax = $46.xx for my 10k oil change. I called a day in advance, so they could get the right oil filter.

You guys are really scaring me... I know my 5K is free, but after that it looks like I might be spending some $$$. I was in another thread and replacing rotors and brake pads for the is350 was a crazy $700. Anyhow, I think I will shop and end up in a Toyota dealership.

Lexus Champion
maybe, maybe not. bottom line is don't get into a lexus unless you have some money (don't have to be rich but you can't be a cheapo either). my 2 cents.
