Onyx Blue Pearl
Hello, I just bought an 06 IS 250 Onyx Blue Pearl with Navi. and premuim package. All in all I love this car to death I've wanted this car since 2000 when I saw the first IS commercial. Well now I have had the car for a month and all this talk about the paint being defected has me worried. I have dull spots on the lower parts of the door and quarter panel. Also the leather is in the driver seat is bubbling and it is squeaking. I called the Dealership about the paint issue and they are going to schedule an appt. with the regional manager. Now someone please tell me this car is worth the headache. I've had a C230 for four years and I went through hell with it. Anyone else had problems with there paint? And how good is Lexus with there customers? Mercedes honestly didn't give a care so..........

First and foremost, congrats on the car!
Second, welcome to ClubLexus!!
Now for the tough stuff: some people have had paint issues but can easily be resolved with a spot paint job. Most dealers are able to deal with such imperfections.
Also, bubbling leather and squeaking seats have been discussed before. Sometimes, the leather may have just not been sewn well, and some people got their seats replaced for free if necessary. Squeaking can be dealt with by simple tightening/lubricating of nuts/bolts that hold the seat. If it's still not solved, the seat may be replaced if necessary. Understand that the dealer will most likely change it if necessary, not just because you want to.
"How good is Lexus with their customers?" Pretty good. To be more competitive with other luxury brands, they have been pretty good with service and reliablity. That is sometimes worth the extra $$$ that you've spent on your car.
Enjoy your car and I hope that all your concerns are resolved.

Hmmm...we bought a blue onyx pearl a month ago, (had it on order for '07, however, they aren't doing this color in '07, so we bought an '06 with less content), and now you're making ME nervous! I better go over the car tomorrow.
Thanks for the heads up, I'm sure they'll fix it if warranted, and congrats on the car and color!

purchased my 06 blue onyx last november so its almost a year now and other than the usual slight scratches and chips in the front ( no clear bra ) paint has held up well. i do wax it every other month and get weekly washes so i do baby the car. just sit back and enjoy the ride and good luck

I had one of my friends that owns a body shop check it out, and one of his employees just got the same color and she has the same dull finish on the lower body. I'm going to have a meeting later on in the month with the regional supervisor. Hopefully all goes well. Thanks.
