i just read it's behind the clock. Is that bad that i hit eject while the clock piece is still in place?

How the heck do i get the clock off?

I did that, too. tried to open it using the tools as instructed in the manual, but it's very hard. I gave up and brought it to lexus to put it back for me at no cost.

I'd like to put in the 2006 dvd in my ML+NAV setup, is it just as difficult as what you guys are describing or simpler?

the instructions seem simple, but i just tried it and couldn't get it. I don't want to force it so i'm going to ask the dealer if they can do it for me.

The book says there are tools in the tool kit for doing this. Did you try using them? Just curious, not trying to doubt, just want to know if the Lexus tools actually work or not.

i tried them, but i didn't hear the 'click' they described and even with a little force i couldn't get it. I've only had this car since Saturday so i'm going to play dumb at the dealer and hope they fix it for free in 30 seconds. I didn't want to chance breaking it.

I've taken it out a few times already, the long metal "stick" tool does the trick nicely. Just push them in all the tab and they will push in the tabs and you can wiggle the clock plate off it does take a bit of force and wiggle but it will come out. You're right though, since car is so new just let the dealer handle it
