What's intresting is that if both cars are the same except for Horsepower than us 250 owners actually paid more per horsepower than the 350 owners ...ie $36,000 / 206 = $174 vs. $46,000 / 306 = $150. Just thought I'd point that out.

I can see what you mean. It's a totally different car because it has different engines, yet the car's outside looks the same. There should be a distinction in case one comes up next to you and starts revving their engine, at least you know what you're up against. I have no way of knowing if I can successfully cut off the IS in front of me because I don't know until the last second when I am 1 foot away from the car, and I see that little number 2, and I make that IS250 eat my dust.
When I see another IS350 owner, I feel like yeah, we have something in common, we love the speed and power of our ride. We're a little more exciting and dangerous. When I see a IS250, I think, they like to drive slow, and I expect to see an old lady driving it. I feel more of a kinship with 350 owners, therefore I would like the distinction more reconizable.
It has nothing to do with how much I paid. Why do people say it's all about the money? It's just about identifying who you are more than anything else.

Bottom line, its more profitable to make the car exactly the same.
I dont race or track or drive fast (80mph max)...IS250 is good for me.
Factors for me:
Price
Int & Ext Styling
Reliability
Efficiency
Plus Servco was not offering the 350 with employee discount.

"I only got a 250 because I wanted a manual tranny, because I like the quick shifts a manual provides and because it's a little more exciting and dangerous. Only an old lady would drive an automatic. I feel more kinship with manual drivers, they should make manual IS's more recognizable, you cant even tell from the badging. I need to know so I can make those auto 250's eat my dust blah blah blah. This is my last post on this thread, some of you are way to vain. The idea that someone shouldn't have your rims because they have a different trim level has to be the most absurd statement ever. Nuff said, I'm out.

Buy like 10 of the 350 rear badging and put them on your hood (for the people in front) and door handles (for your passengers), oh yea it would look cool behind each wheel fender too! Dont forget about the roof so people in big truck next to you will know too. You should actually mount the hood one backwards so people looking in their rear view can read it.
LOL thats keeping it civil right, its actually a solution to his problem.

other than that i really see no difference, after all, it shouldn't really matter whether its a 250/350, its still a 2IS. mods are what make your car unique.
250 owners shouldn't get screwed out of anything. after all the name tells you about the engine, and that is really the only difference.

Why should I feel cheated, they offer various other items to the 250 in addition to the rims. To me its a good thing. If the 250 came w/16's standard with the only option of upgrade being 17's, IMO that would put a dent in some of their sales.
IMHO, the IS with 16's would look like $%@!; thereby, causing the entire line to look the same.
Lexus got it right; if you want to look different, spend your own $$$'s!

lol.. "eat my dust" woooo.. big bad 350 automatic.. floor the pedal and hold the wheel straight.. it sure take a lot of skills to feel that superior huh..
i test drove both the 350 and 250 and decided to get a black 250 because its going to be automatic and it needs to be luxurious which it certainly is.. 350 does have more power however speed/handling is not the reason I wanted the new IS
anyways.. after you beat my black car you can take it up with my white car..
