Unfortunately, I don't believe Crutchfield sells JL Audio... I guess I'll just go with ebay...

Try http://www.sonicelectronix.com

10" JL Subs
12" JL Subs
JL Amps

Word of warning: They took FOREVER (10 days after payment) to ship my order, but most people don't seem to have problems, so YMMV. They also sell on eBay and have decent feedback (except from me). Nonetheless, their prices are right, and they did ship the product eventually.. I'd do business again.

You also need a speaker to RCA line output convertor (LOC) if the amp you are using does not have speaker level inputs. I like David Navone products. The NE-7V would work well in the IS's audio system. http://www.davidnavone.com/adaptor_products.htm

Everything else you listed looks good.

I have a Rockford Fostgate T10001 Power amp running a JL audio 8W7. So i don't know if my amp has the speaker levels inputs or not. What does the SLI do anyways?

The RF amp you have does not have speaker level inputs. It has RCA inputs and can only handle probably up to 8 or 9 volts of audio signal. The factory amp speaker outputs carry 20-25 volts to the speaker. The LOC lowers the voltage down to a level so the RCA inputs won't be damaged by too much voltage.

What is an SLI?

I had an 8W7 and blew it with a 600 watt amp. So be careful with that 1000 watt amp powering the 8W7.

I am thinking of getting a JL audio 500/1 or 250/1. Do these amps has the speaker level inputs? Btw, SLI=speaker level inputs. Also, i noticed that you took out your stock sub to enhance your aftermarket sub sound, so my question is will you be able to put back your stock sub if you so choose later on? Thanks for you fast and helpful response. Kuki

Both the 500/1 and 250/1 can accept speaker level inputs. You flip a switch on the amp near the RCA inputs and then plug in a pair of RCA cables that have been connected to the factory amp's sub wires. BTW, on their website JL Audio recommends the 250/1 to be used with a single 8W7.

And yes, I can re-install the factory sub as it came from the factory. It just bolts in place and the wiring plugs into it.

how does that sound??? That set up is nice. Also do you have the ML or regular audio package?

is it worth it to get the ML package if you're thinking about getting a sub or 2 installed?

Only using 1 amp? Can't those 10w7s handle 500W each? Probably overkill to use 2, but why not just use 1 speaker then?

I've owned W7 subs. Those are not W7s in the picture.

This is a 10W7 sub:

hehe, is there an echo in here??? Look a few posts up, from a few days ago, I already posted that those look like W3's, even though the OP never responded... His sig is obviously incorrect...
