Yeah, I forget about them. It's been so long.

When I was still living at home, I surely wasn't driving a Lexus. My parents would never let me mooch off them so I could ride around in a $35,000 car.

Come live/work in hawaii before you go moaning about how hard it is in da mainland and how you dont have money this/that... IF you don't have the money, don't buy crap you cant afford... err how hard is that? I mean come on now you DONT really need NEW 19" rims IF you have the stock 18"s just need to dump the turanza's for some real shoes *never heard of turanza'z even if they are ishibashi tires*.

6-8bucks for a gal of milk here is an example.

Nothing wrong with that at all. I have friends that are teachers, and they have some fairly nice cars (nicer than what I used to drive until last month).

I believe in financing. If I can finance for 5% and make 8-10% investing in the market I'm head 3-5% for the money I would have paid.

My view on financing is a bit different. I avoid it and pay cash for my cars. If you have a money tree, and have plenty of it invested away, then there is no need to finance. I wrote a check in full for my new IS, and my paperwork was done in 5 minutes. The $35K check I wrote is what my wife and I consider to be disposable income (combined 1 month's family income).

Only reason why I didn't buy the 350 is because the power was too much to serve as my daily beater. I average a speed of 15 miles per hour for my commute to work, and 306 horses made no sense for me.

This set me ahead of my payment schedule and in september I turned off automatic payments, opting instead to put money towards it when I can. My next payment isn't technically due until Dec 2008, though I hope to pay it off as fast as possible.
Make sure this is correct. Usually when you prepay a part of your loan it just reduces the number of months on the loan, but it doesn't give a hiatus as you describe. Your loan may be different, but just check to make sure. You don't want a nasty surprise when the loan company says you are overdue and your credit report gets dinged.

^^^
when i financed my camry through toyota financial that is how they worked it. if you paid more than your monthly payment like dash did, instead of taking months off the end of the loan it would put it toward future payments and i actually wound up not HAVING to pay the loan for about a year, i still did tho bc i wanted to pay it off fast
