Talking Seattlelite's first attempt at a REAL detail...

So I went crazy last week and ordered a Cyclo and a bunch of other stuff on Tuesday. Everything arrived by Saturday. 8 hours later, this is what I ended up with...

I'll write-up details later and post more pictures but I'm heading out for a spin in my car with a friend in his E90. The final process was 3 coats of Zaino Z-2 Pro w/ZFX. It's definitely a lot more "wet" than Mag's NXT's I was using before.

EDIT 05.14.2006 - 8:25 PM PDT: As per monkeyfarm, I actually have a bottle of Z-6 detailing spray so here it is after a Z-6 wipedown. Be aware the sun is setting here in Seattle so I'm not sure if it's going to be a good comparison with the high gloss spray during a setting sun vs. Z-2 only in direct sunlight...

Cheers,
Kermee

Do yourself a favor and get some Z6. It'll pop even more. And the real upside is you won't have to touch it again (other than washes) for about 6 months and it'll still look as good after a wipedown with some Z6. Enjoy the ride

http://www.zainostore.com/

I'd stress though, that if you're not really into detailing your own car (by which I mean going through the proper prep steps: claying, swirl removal and/or polishing as required, sealing (Zaino in this case) you're probably just as well off going with some OTC sealant like NXT, etc. The additional benefit of Zaino, which is longevity, isn't going to be realized if your prep work isn't great.

Mine after a few coats of Z5:

I just realized, I bought the Z-6 detailing spray from my local distributor. I just gave her a wipe down but now the sun is going down a bit so I'm not sure if it's going to be as shiny as the 1st picture. I have an old Canon S330 so the pictures don't do the car justice.

I'll post a picture up in a few minutes.

EDIT: Pictures are up back in the first post.

Cheers,
Kermee

(I have an OLD Canon S330 which is the hand-me-down for when I bought my girlfriend the new Canon SD450... which ironically the Canon S330 was a X'Mas gift originally 3 years ago. Hah!)

Heh. During the summer, it actually doesn't become pitch black dark until about 10:30'ish PM during DST. One of the trade-offs in living further north.

Cheers,
Kermee
