Default Acceptable install quality of clear bra

I have just had my IS installed with the clear bra today but I find that there are lints here and there trapped underneath. I pointed them out to the installer and he fixed some of them, mainly near the boundary but couldn't fix those which are near the middle or after the film was installed too long.

I wonder is it acceptable to have some lints trapped underneath? Or I am too picky?

Thanks

They must be pretty bad if you can see them on a silver car.

Question Whats the Warranty?

There should not be any imperfections under the clearbra. Take it back and have them redo it.

"Lints here and there" are unacceptable. Perhaps it just needs to dry, but there should be nothing noticable in the plastic after a day or two.

Good luck!

Thanks guys, for your advice. I will definitely ask for a redo or if not a refund and go somewhere else.

Andy,
Think you can post some pics so we can all see how bad it really is?

Sure, I will try to take some photos today. The lints only show up clearly under the shade except the headlights where the lints could actually be seen from a distance!

"The lint". By definition, "lint" refers to multiple pieces of fibre, fuzz, etc. No need to add an "s". One of those annoying English-isms.

They did a bad job of preping it, and I'd find it totally unacceptable if it was me

Which company did you get it done by? Just want to know so that if I do decide to get my car clear bra-ed in the future, it won't be installed by them..........

Hi mcfly,

I typed it too fast. Thanks for your correction.

GSE25,

I think the installer was trying his best but with a lack of experience and a cleaner shop. So I don't think it is fair to disclose the company name. So I just sent you private message instead.

there was a ~2mm wooden splinter underneath the hood portion of my 3M clear bra. I took it back and made them redo it. I stood there and watched them, made sure they prepped it right including claying etc.. I had no idea that 3M stuff would be so hard to remove, the installer really struggled to get it off. He apologized for the mistake and for wasting my time, so it was all good

Linh811,

It's good to know your experience because I have more than one 2mm lint and so it is okay to object to the quality of my installer. I thought I was too critical but I guess it is indeed acceptable to have dirts trapped in any good installation.

All,

Trying to post the pictures but the lint are so minute that I can see them in the pictures.

My clear bra was pretty good, except for on long hair that was trapped underneath. I made them take it off and do it again. For $500 I expect it to be damn near perfect. If I wanted a shoddy, half-assed job I would have done it myself.
