It goes up to about 150 on the speedometer, but that would be about 142 if measured accuratly. So the max speed they state is about right. (Someone even told me that that was electronically limited, but not sure if that is just a rumor, compared to other cars I owned that is quite a slow top speed for the size of engine and horsepower). But still one of my alltime favourites

regards
Don

Yes, it's electronically limited to 142. In addition to the places I mentioned in my previous post (brochure, owners manual, service manual, press kit), it's also on the Lexus website here: http://www.lexus.com/models/IS/detai...fications.html

Thanks Bichon,

The never stated that on any of the european websites or in brochures etc. So that could become a project for this summer.... getting it removed

It's hard to do anything over 90 most of the time on LA freeways. Too much traffic, too many cops, too many idiot drivers...

Yes, and if it says you're doing 8 mph, you're not actually moving.

At 50 MPH, a 5 percent error is just 2 1/2 MPH. At 150, a 5 percent error is 7 1/2 MPH.

I maxed out my IS350 at 149mph. Mind you it was 2am and on the highway so noone was on it for the most part and i was playing around with my 2 buddies who got a Charger SRT-8 and a Mazdaspeed 6.
