Will the new ES take away from IS sales?

I don't think most people looks at a IS and a ES at the same time. If someone were looking at a ES i'm sure they are also checking out the Mercedes-Benz C-Class which is one of the few luxury oriented entry level luxury vehicles left since most are targeted towards sporty\luxury like the IS so I highly doubt it would steal sales.

Did anyone see the damn graph posted?
Any of you IS owners hating the ES, RESPECT your older brother. The ES either is most reliable or best selling in class. It has done WONDERS for Lexus. We have ES owners that have switched to the IS.
The ES maybe based on the Camry but its more than just a fancy Camry. The ES sold 44,000 cars back in 1992. The IS is doing that with 2 models in 2006.

Look at the failure of the I35 for Infiniti. Imagine that happened to Lexus?

Don't forget the IS 250!!! A lot less $$ than the ES 350...
Don't forget, you also have to consider the IS250 with the ES350. The IS250 will be significantly less than the ES, and some people may prefer the IS for the lower cost. There may be some drivers out there that does not need the extra space, power, and cost of the ES, hence the IS250 should suffice.

I would suggest, that you don't quote someone's message, unless your response is actually pertinent to it, rather than the thread discussion.
