Default Key fob case is crap...are there aftermarket styles out there?

Just wondering if anyone is using another type of key fob case other than the crappy ones provided with the car.

Nothing I know of. I think they make little plastic covers for them, like for your cellphone. What do you not like about it?

Could you elaborate on why exactly the key fob is crap?

LOL at this thread.... ipod sock / clear bra rofl... I actually read up on some thread a couple months ago when this jack of all trades guy took apart a key fob and re-assembled it in custom wood key fob he made himself... some people actually liked it. Maybe you could try that if you can get you hands on some of the wood trim material in the IS.... but really, I think it wouldn't be worth the trouble (creating a custom key fob or searching for a aftermarket case on such a new car) and your just gonna have to live with it... or at least till some company comes up with one (be it Lexus or some other company)

The great thing about a keyless entry system is that you don't need to hold the key. EVER!

So, if the leather case sucks, just keep it safe in any container, whether it's an iPod Sock, coin purse, a murse, etc.

I have no problem with the key fob case. It keeps the fob from getting scratched up in the harsh environment in my pocket, without adding much bulk. That said, it would look a lot nicer if it was all leather, rather than having that cheesy looking clear plastic window.

ditto on that. i couldn't stand the ugly valet instructions, so i took it out and saw "Lexus" written on the other side so i decided to show that instead. it still looks tacky, but i think it beats the valet instructions. i remember someone said they cut out the black cloth under the plastic window to reveal the nice lexus logo on the actual fob itself. i thought about doing this too, but i figured it would be dificult to take the fob out of the case if the plastic starts to stick to the fob.

I agree. Although I don't have the car yet. I've seen 'em. I think the Infiniti's M series has a nice looking key fob. What do you guys think?

i don't have my car yet either but I can't imagine how bad it could be. or what someone would expect, not much more you can do with a plastic fob. ceramic? wood fob - now thats going nuts.
