Why would the parts guy at Lexus look it up and tell me they are standard bulbs?
He said "I think they are LEDs, let me look" and came back and said "Nope, they are standard bulbs."

LED taillamps and brake lights are....
standard on the IS250/350. HID's are optional on all models but are part of a package. Since they are BiXenon with auto leveling and steering feature this would probably add about $800 dollars to the base price which would be fine IMO. Fold Down rear seats are not offerred on any Lexus sedans and to do so would add noise and affect the body integrity and add flex to the body. These would compromise the quiet nature of the Lexus.
The XM antenna is usually mounted on the rear parcel shelf and is unobtrusive in that location. The Sirius antenna is placed in the front windshield however we experience a lot of dropout here in DC with Sirius and the antenna designed for the Lexus sedans. Sharkfins would detract from the smooth roofline of the Lexus Finesse designs. The corners of the car experience 90% of the bumper damage so the Park Assist is pretty effective at protecting the car as it is front and rear. The rear center is covered already. More legroom in the rear and I would add foot room for when the front seat is in its lowest position would be welcome. More headroom would be nice too. Of course then it would not be classified as a sub-compact sedan. A changeholder would be an improvement. All Season 18" tires would be better in our region to go with the 18" rims. (That is why you don't see 18's offerred on the AWD IS250)
More horsepower for the IS250 which is actually pretty good already at 204 HP for a 2.5 liter. Someday there may be a larger powerplant such as the 3.0 which is now in the GS. I think Lexus is mirroring the BMW 3 series inoder to compete. Most of the owners of the IS250 are happy with the performance of the IS250. It is comparable to the IS300 but with much better fuel efficiency. The IS350 is very close to the performance of the M3 BMW so it makes the IS250 look slow.
BTW, you can get 90% of the above features if you would like to step up to the GS300 midsize sport sedan which will probably morph into the GS350 next model year.

- VDIM off, although it doesn't bother me; I'm just sick of it losing out to other cars because of VDIM
- Standard HID's
- Front center parking sensor like the 3GS has
- LED turn signal indicators in the taillights (like the current 3-series Coupe has)
- A better Lexus bodykit... something less bolt-on looking
- More wood tone options. I like the wood with black, but the blackwood looks awesome on the gray interior on our GS300
- Fold down rear seats... I miss those from my Cavalier (wow.)

5. Sharkfin antenna for satellite radio
6. Make HVAC ventilate/recirculate/auto setting persist after turning off car
And not really a change to the car, but I'd recommend that they send an equitable distribution of options to dealers all over the country. Their current procedures, where you can buy a ML equipped car in the midwest but not in the northeast is not very customer friendly.
