If you change the bulbs to white, wouldn't that basically defeat the purpose of DRLs? I don't think you could see white lights during the day nearly as well as you can see the stock (yellower) bulbs.

Question guys: are the DRLs on bi-xenon IS350s (HID on both low and high beams) also the high-beams, like on non-HID cars? Thx.
And yes, I'd turn them off if I buy this car; I can always turn on the lights if I want to. And as a long-time motorcyclist, I prefer people to associate DRLs with bikes, and not bikes and cars. I'd only consider leaving them on if my car was black or dark gray, but not a brighter color. If somebody can't see a silver or red car in broad daylight, they won't see its DRLs either IMHO. Later guys.

How would they come out and hit "your" car? DRLs is for opposing drivers to see them so YOU wont hit them.

i think it helps when its getting darker and people forget to turn on their headlights, then the DRLs come in handy. or when it gets really dark because of weather, etc. but yeah, i think its a bogus law where it is a law.

Sitting on the fence . . .
Not a fan of DRLs, wouldn't modify a car that didn't have it as OEM.
That said, not going out of my way to have them turned off either.
I suppose it is a safety feature, and probably will grow on me as I drive the IS more . . .

DRL's are one of the greatest safety innovations in the history of the automobile and only a suicidal ( or homicidal) idiot would even think about defeating such an innocuous and beneficial safety device.
Add one vote to that choice for me when it pops up!
It amazes me that so-called car guys want to defeat a feature that increases your ability be seen by your fellow drivers. This has been proven time and again in study after study. And at what cost? Almost none!
