Default Burn off smell

Has anyone experienced a bad 'burn off' smell. Basically burning off factory oils etc from the exhaust etc? If so, how long has it lasted? My car only has about 150 miles on it and it contiunes to smell. It doesnt' seem to be coming from under the hood. there is no obvious smoke

Yes, it is the cosmoline burning off. It will stop after awhile. Already discussed here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=197475

Thanks for the link..I figured it was something like that...just a bit surprised it takes 500 miles to stop the stink

Well I was planning on having the burn off smell, but to my surprise I had none. Then again after I took delivery, I had a 100 mile trip back home from the dealership, so maybe by the time I got back, all the cosmoline had already burnt off.

600 miles ours still smells like burnt oil. I have found no leaks and the oil level is fine. Doesn't smell like any cosmoline I have ever smelled. Japan must use something different than Germany. LOL.

Every new vehicle/motorcycle I've had did the same thing. The IS is just now starting to smell less with 550 miles on her.
