Default Temp gauge

Hope this doesn't come off sounding like I suffer from OCD, but after the shakey mirror question, I'm emboldened to ask it:

On every car I've ever owned or rented, when the car is fully warmed up, the temperature needle is exactly centered between the "C" and the "H" markings. My Lexus, on the other hand, the needle is slightly left of centered, maybe at about 47% deflection. Is this normal?

Yes, it's normal. In fact, I've never had a car where the temp gauge was in the middle of the dial space. It's alwasy a little towards the cool end of the spectrum (with the exception of some american cars, where it fluctuated all over the place).

Yeah, re-read his post. That's what he's saying.

Yeah, same here. Little to the colder side. And every car that I have ever driven was a little to the colder side as well.

Same here. I think all Japanese cars the arrow leans alittle to the colder side.

My moms Toyota Highlander does this, My old Integra did that, etc..
