one more thing - I got the cable lock from autoanything.com and its great...rubberized lock and cable to prevent scratches on the car...only one I've seen like this.

bagwell, thanks for the offer. I hope to take delivery today or tomorrow. It was delayed an additional week due to some misdirection of a railcar. I am going to attempt to get at least a discount on the factory cover for my "inconvenience". If that doesn't work, I may have to take you up on the offer. Thanks again.

What is recommended for parking outside/on the street? Should I just leave it uncovered so rascals don't try and take a peek? My IS should be arriving in the next few weeks.

The BEST car cover for IS?
I know this has been discussed here before, but I wanted to find out which is the best car cover for the IS. My car will be parked outside.
I am looking at the California Car Cover Superweave. With reflective piping it's about $400. What do you guys think? Keep in mind im in New England where weather wreaks havoc on cars.
Thanks!\
BTW...I did try the search function but it was not working for me

I just received from Calif. Car cover a cover made from Kimberly Clark's Noah material. It fits very well. I have used "Noah" covers for years and they do very well outside here in So. Calif. weather. (or lack of weather depending on your perspective!) For my IS I bought the "Noah" cover and am using it in a garage! Nuts I know. But for the few times a year it might sit outside I'm ready!
Any way the cover fits great and from what I read is the best for outside storage. It looks like Superweave will be fine as well but appears to be more pricey . Then again you'll be getting special piping.

With a move to a new building....I now have covered parking and won't be using my car cover.
If someone wants it for $99 shipped....its the autoanything.com evolutuion 4 material $163....I only used it about 10 times at the most and every time it was on a spotless just washed car.
its the tan color which is great for keeping the car cool, you wouldn't believe the difference if you have black interior!

I know there was a post like a week or 2 ago asking the same question. There were a couple good brands thrown out there but I don't remember which ones they were...

I have found the Costco car covers to be very good for indoor storage. Not sure if they are suitable for outdoor storage. I purchased the Acura cover from the dealership for my old RL and it cost $250. The one from Costco is made out of exactly the same material but did not have the custom fit for the side mirrors as did the Acura one but it certainly fits fine over the car (a different car than the Acura) including the mirrors. Costco price is something like $20 or $30. I won't be buying a car cover from a dealership again.

Anyone using a cover everyday? I have to park my new IS250 out in the sun while at work (8-5) and am considering purchasing a cover to use everyday. Of course I would get the top of the line cover so I won't scratch the paint. I can just imagine that putting it on and taking it off everyday will get old quick. I've been used to going from garage to garage up until now. My company is moving and there is no covered parking anymore. I guess if a cover is not the way to go, I'll just tint the windows. Any advice?
